2026 Beauty & Wellness: What’s In & What’s Out

2026 Beauty & Wellness: What’s In & What’s Out

Every new year brings a shift in beauty habits, and as 2025 is ending we have now curated a list of 2026 INS and OUTS. 2026 is defined by intentional, nourishing, and conscious choices. The biggest change? Barrier-repair skincare is in. Consumers are choosing comforting formulas rich in Shea, textures, and natural oils to restore strength and resilience. On the other side, overly harsh cleansers and aggressive exfoliation routines are officially out, replaced by gentle, hydrating alternatives.

Another major “in” is body care as self-care. Instead of quick, functional routines, people are embracing sensorial and indulgent rituals; almond scrubs, indulgent body creams, and calming oils. Meanwhile, 10-step routines are out as minimal, effective skincare becomes the preferred approach.

When it comes to fragrance, soft florals, clean musk, and calming scents take center stage, while overpowering perfumes fade out. And perhaps the biggest shift of all: conscious beauty is in. Refillable packaging, ethical sourcing, and recycling programs (like L’Occitane’s BLT initiative) are shaping how consumers choose products.

2026 is the year of thoughtful, sustainable beauty that prioritizes comfort, quality, and wellbeing.
